As Jen and her girls turned the bare Union Project space into a picturesque white picnic setting in the matter of 20 minutes I knew that the day was going to transform into something pretty special.  This past weekend marked the first wedding of the year for me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to embark on the wedding season with. Jennifer & Jordans’ families possessed the same endearing qualities that I picked up on the first time I met these two, which translated into making their wedding day an exceptional one.

The day began with sunshine and Jen and her bridal crew heading to the salon for some laughs and slick hair-dos while the guys found their way to one of my favorite breweries in Pittsburgh, East End. After throwing down a few samples of Big Hop IPA and Monkey Boy Witte it was time for the serious stuff. This day was all about joining Jen and Jordan as husband and wife and I don’t think Jordan could have been any more ready to start their lives together. Happy tears came while he waited to approach the altar to see his bride for the first time and honest emotions came to the forefront. It’s refreshing to see two people that care heaping loads about each other as Jennifer and Jordan do and I was content to witness those heaping loads of love all night long.

Although the day was centered on Jen and Jordan, it’s hard not to say ring bearer Nathan didn’t steal the show. As soon as the bass started kicking he was out there challenging the DJ the entire night. This little guy was like the energizer bunny on Red Bull. He entertained us all with is relentless break dancing moves, and only took a break from his routine to slow dance with his mother (cue the aweeeessss). I think Nathan’s enthusiasm for Jen and Jordan was shared with just about everybody there, as it would be impossible not to enjoy this amazing couple’s special day.

The night ended for me on my drive home as PNC Park graciously set off fireworks for Jen & Jordan’s celebration and to kick off the wedding season for me (at least in my mind that’s what they were for).
