1. … no surprise here- “Game of Thrones” is back and is already in full swing. The show is in its third season and, at only four episodes in, might be my favorite season yet. If you are one of those people looking for a new series to delve into, and you even kinda liked Lord of the Rings, I promise you this won’t disappoint.
2. Juicing. No, I don’t mean Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire juicing where your biceps grow 6 inches in circumference. This type of juicing is actually good for your body and won’t put you on trial. After ordering fresh juice at our favorite restaurant every week for lunch, we finally got our own juicer and mornings have never been better. My favorite recipes as of late are below:
Berry Blend – 1 and 1/2 cups of strawberries, 1 pear, 1 kiwi
Pear Pineapple – 2 pears, 2 spears of pineapple, 1 cup of red grapes, 1 lemon
There is no wrong combination and they have all been delicious. Plus as a bonus, you feel like superman afterwards.
3. Whole Wheat Apple Muffins. Before I go on with this one I must put out a disclaimer that once you try one of these muffins, you will not be able to stop and might have to make them twice a week. Abbey and I decided to create our own brunch one day and we found this recipe on Smitten Kitchen. I justify eating four in one sitting by pointing out that they are whole wheat and hey, they have apple in them. Am I right?
4. Good Old War. I listen to this indie band from Philadelphia usually when I’m editing, writing emails, or building websites. Their songs have great tempo for getting things accomplished without getting distracted. Some of my favorite titles include “I Should Go,” “My Own Sinking Ship,” and “Amazing Eyes.”
5. East End Brewery – This down to earth brew crew just opened a new location near Bakery Square to sample beers and fill up growlers. The new location is much roomier than their last spot and Scott the owner is just about the nicest guy you will come across. If you want to sample some awesome microbeers and chat about them too, East End is the place to go.
