I always let my clients pick the locations that they want to shoot at. It gives me insight into who they are as a couple and what makes up their personality. To allow myself to get the best images I need to understand the people I’m working with. Getting thrown into the environment they are most comfortable with does exactly that. Megan and Brandon have some country blood in them and I was extremely thankful for it. Sometimes the locations I get to shoot are too perfect. This past weekend was one of those days. Horses running on a hill backlit by golden rays descending over the Pennsylvania landscape.  That is what perfect is in my book.

Megan and Brandon were completely themselves in front of the camera. Brandon had the uncanny ability to make Megan laugh on cue. It was simply fun to watch. Seeing two people that in love is why I do what I do. When I can capture moments like that I have a huge grin plastered on my face while I snap the shutter. A moment gets captured forever that is full of emotion and love.

During every engagement session there is a moment where the couple’s love is undeniable and I see the real them. It could be when the guy helps the girl out of the car or when they share a joke that only they know because of their history together. This time wouldn’t exactly be the moment you would expect but it was perfect nonetheless. We were setting up to get some shots in a weathered barn, but there was a Bobcat parked in front that I needed moved so that it wouldn’t be in the frame. Without hesitation, Megan jumped into the driver’s seat and turned it on. If that wasn’t enough, Brandon coached her the whole time until she successfully moved it out of view. It was entertaining, yes, but also made me realize how thankful I am to work with such genuine people who are 100% themselves in front of me and my camera. The images I captured from the day are authentic representations of Megan and Brandon’s love for one another as I was lucky enough to experience on that perfect fall day.
