I woke up to soft rain tapping on the window and a forecast on my phone that boasted a 70-80% chance of rain for the rest of the day. I had scheduled Stephanie and Patricks’ engagement shoot for this seemingly rainy Sunday, and thinking we might have a soggy setting, I called Stephanie asking if she wanted to reschedule. She told me in a cheerful voice that she thought it would be romantic to have their engagement session in the rain, and after seeing the results of the images I couldn’t agree more. It’s not the weather, location, or the outfits that make any session more special than the next. It’s the couple. In this case it was a couple that couldn’t stop laughing while they enjoyed the day together. Stephanie and Patrick turned a rainy Sunday into a great afternoon as we strolled past some of their favorite places in Lawrenceville and finished off where Patrick proposed in Schenley Park. The rain gave everything that new Spring feel and a background that was vibrantly green. It even let up once in a while to give me time to photograph them without trying to perform a balancing act with a camera and umbrella. It was quite perfect. Thank you, Stephanie and Patrick, for a fantastic rainy afternoon in Pittsburgh. I absolutely can’t wait for your wedding in 2014.
As a side note Stephanie has her own floral design business that kinda rocks. If you are looking for some exceptional looking flowers for your event check out her website here.
