Stacy and John are attracted to the rain. Or maybe it’s the other way around. Either way, if these two have an important date on the calendar you can bet there will be some raindrops making an appearance. I come from the belief that rain is romantic. Storms may be ominous, but the calm before the thunder, lightening, and torrential downpour always gets me excited. So when storm clouds gathered for our shoot the first time… and the second time, I got kind of pumped.

I love engagement shoots because it gives me an opportunity to spend some time with my couples and find out a little more about them. Where they work, what kind of neat hobbies they’re into, John’s choice of having a fro back in the day. You know, the important stuff. So when we had to reshoot a second day because of rain I felt that I knew these two for a long time. When couples are comfortable it allows them to let their guard down and just be themselves in front of the camera, which in my opinion is always the best version of them. Stacy and John will be having a full-scale celebration at Succup Conservatory this October, and I just can’t wait.
