Watch out Jimi Hendrix….you too Clapton. I have found the next two stars in the music world and they are masters of the dying art of air guitar. Lauren and Shane are not the type to skip out on the dance floor and I couldn’t be happier that they wanted to break it down all night long. But before their dance moves took over the Gateway Clipper there were more genuine moments than I could count. It’s hard to decide which one was my favorite. Maybe it was the girls having a laughter filled morning, or Lauren jumping up and down when they were pronounced husband and wife, or maybe it was the way they held each other as the last slow song of the night trickled out of the speakers. Whatever the case, there was some magic that happened, and I am all kinds of excited about it.

After the ceremony on Duquesne’s campus we headed down to the river for a wedding reception adventure on the water. The warm summer evening was accompanied by a cool breeze that made for a perfect evening on the river for a couple that deserved nothing less. These two are as unselfish as they come, even giving away their dollar dance money for a scholarship fund. Their genuine care for others was further confirmed when the speeches were given; Every person had a story of how these two had touched their lives which can only be credited to how much Lauren and Shane care about the people around them.

I’m all about the moments on a wedding day. The big impact ones and the small that make a wedding day so unique to the couple getting married. Some moments, the first kiss, the first dance, and the father giving his daughter away, are watched closely and expectantly because they are important and special milestones of a wedding. Other moments aren’t as obvious, but are just as meaningful and are completely unique from wedding to wedding. When Lauren wrapped her arms around Shane for one of the last dances of the evening there was a look of complete content on her face. A look of immeasurable happiness. Lauren was holding her hubby and was so excited that she could now call him exactly that. This was one of many special moments during their wedding that reminded me why I absolutely love what I do.
