KRISTI & GREG ENGAGEMENT | NEW RIVER GORGE | WEST VIRGINIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

This is Kristi and Greg….(everyone say “Hello Kristi and Greg”). They are a super awesome couple that live in West Virginia and are going to be wed on the edge of a cliff on the New River Gorge. Pretty awesome, right?

It was about time I made a trip down to wild and wonderful West Virginia to see my good friend Greg and finally meet his extremely sweet fiance Kristi. The two of them asked me to shoot their wedding and I couldn’t be more honored. Kristi and Greg bring out the best in each other. Greg is still his goofy self that I knew when we were younger and I was happy to see Kristi embrace that completely. When a couple can be honest and true to their own personalities it makes for an awesome relationship…. aka Kristi and Greg.

The original intention of the visit was to check out Smokey’s On the Gorge, which is the perfect location for their wedding. The resort has a breathtaking view of the New River Gorge. It was stunning when we went to check it out and that was with baron trees and a dusting of snow. I can’t imagine what it’s going to look like next October when the leaves will be changing into deep oranges and reds. Freakishly gorgeous is the first description that comes to mind. What started on a scouting mission for locations turned into a mini engagement session. I couldn’t help myself. It was location sweetness overload. Kristi and Greg kindly obliged which is why I was able to get the shots below.

To no surprise I found myself on the edge of a cliff, in the middle of a creek, and standing on railings that you aren’t supposed to cross over. In my mind, to get the best shots you need to live on the edge. I think you need to be willing to push yourself a little farther to get a shot that no one else will (because other people are sane and wouldn’t do those types of things.) If this session is any indication of how great their wedding is going to be I would say I have A LOT to look forward to.
