Every once and awhile I get a couple that is brave enough to wake up at the crack up dawn for sunrise pics. It’s never easy to climb out of bed that early (especially for me), but Megan and Colin battled past hitting the snooze button and met me bright and early for their engagement session at McConnell’s Mills. You can see from the first image alone it was worth it. We were lucky enough to get the killer golden light that is usually only reserved for the mornings. Photography is all about chasing the right light and that morning we were able to catch it. Just about everything went our way that morning. Well…..everything except Colin getting electrocuted by a fence. We listened for humming and threw sticks at the fence. That is totally the legit way to handle that situation, right? It was just like the scene in Jurassic Park where Tim gets fried and his hair stands at attention. Ok, that didn’t happen but Colin was a man about it. Or maybe it wasn’t the fence at all, and their love is just that electric. Don’t worry everyone, Abbey made fun of me immediately after I typed that. Cheesy lines and electric currents aside I had great light, unique locations, and a couple whose love is so evident in every single image that there was no way I could have taken a bad photo.
McConnell’s Mills has been a place I have wanted to shoot a session for awhile. The glacial rocks there are stunning and made for such a unique location for these two. Colin gracefully lifted Megan from cliff face to moss covered rock as we hiked through the state park to find some spots to snap photos. The sessions I enjoy the most are when a couple can completely relax and let their personalities come out. Colin and Megan personality as a couple is simply terrific. Goofy, lovable and the inability to stop smiling at each other. Thanks for a great morning you two!
