PATRICIA & MICHAEL | BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT SHOOT

“I love you more than pickles.” It’s a bold phrase, I know, and one not to be taken lightly. Many couples have uttered these words without regard for their stature, which can often cause resentment and jealousy issues. But not Patricia and Michael. It’s the perfect saying for these two and the best way to help describe the tone of their engagement session at Bucknell University.

The campus was completely empty, but the quad was still filled with laughter. I think its actually impossible not to have a smile on your face around Patricia and Mike. They are absolutely hilarious, and even more so when telling stories of their time at Bucknell, which was strictly spent studying of course. We ran all around the beautiful grounds to capture the best light. I mean, literally, Patricia ran and skipped in her heels from place to place.

I really enjoyed shooting at Bucknell because it was a new location for me, and the beautiful architecture, lush landscape, and a pretty great tree grove didn’t hurt either. It was also the place where Patricia and Mike met and fell in love, and it was clear this location held a special place in their hearts. I think photographs have a great energy when a couple has a connection with their environment, which is why I always encourage clients to pick a location for their engagement session that has some kind of meaning to them.
