I think at some point every kid dreams of having an entire major league stadium to do whatever they want in. Some might want to run the bases, others might fantasize about endless nachos and cracker jacks, and some just want to sit in the dug out to experience what their favorite players get to do during a game. Val and Matt beat out all of these when they tied the knot at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Their ceremony was an intimate gathering on the veranda overlooking the Clemente Bridge and the Riverwalk. It’s hard to believe any event occurring in a huge stadium could be called intimate, but that is exactly what their ceremony was. It was personal and funny and even included the story of how these two met, which made for great smiles and laughter.

Val looked absolutely beautiful. As if her friends and family telling her how stunning she was wasn’t enough, she also got the very vocal approval of hundreds of Steelers fans roaming the Riverwalk for the preseason game against the Chiefs. Even with a bunch of strangers walking in and out of their photos, Matt and Val kept the same relaxed and fun attitude that they showed all day long.

The reception in the Hall of Fame Club was a cool mix of glitter and greenery. Val had a vision and her family and friends made it happen. Sequin-covered tables, Edison lightbulbs with glitter inside, and other bling side by side with small potted plants made for a glamorous atmosphere that was natural at the same time. The same could be said for Val and Matt; they looked amazing on their wedding day, but did not stray from their easygoing, kindhearted personalities at any time.

As I was editing these photos for this blog post the one thing that struck me was how many genuine smiles and laughs there were throughout the wedding day. They were everywhere. It was actually tough to get an image during the ceremony where Val and Matt weren’t smiling at each other from ear to ear. How amazing is that? Two people that love each other so much that knowing they are becoming husband and wife put a smile on everyone’s face, including mine. I love weddings that are a series of amazing moments of love and laugher. These two nailed it, and I wish them all the best in their new future together.
