Those of you who are from Pittsburgh know of the madness that takes place on St. Paddy’s in the city. Somehow we have managed to take the #2 spot for largest St. Paddy’s Day celebration (only behind Boston). How that happened I have no idea. Instead of jumping head first into the shenanigans this year I was on the opposite side of things. I was actually in the parade photographing Green Gears. They are the guys that pedal people around the city on those nifty bicycle carriages. All the drivers are down-to-earth great people, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time following them around the city this past Saturday. I am also pretty sure all of them have bionic legs. Below are some of my favorite shots from the day. As you can see I thought the Star Wars guys were a pretty awesome bunch! I mean….how many times do you see a storm trooper dance in a parade with a green tie on? Some other highlights were the cutest puppy in the world and a guy that decided he wanted a photo shoot with a man asking for change. St. Paddy’s = Success!
