I had the privilege of shooting my good friends Colby and Christian’s Hotel Monaco wedding in downtown Pittsburgh last weekend, and it was everything I had hoped for. Weddings are all about people for me, and Colby is just a genuinely awesome person who made for the best kind of bride. She remained laid back, beautiful, and smiling even when I asked her to stand outside in below freezing temps. This had a lot to do with Christian, a decent man who made for a decent groom. Just kidding bud. I love you! The two of them are perfect together, smiling and laughing constantly, and even when surrounded by other people, they never lost sight of the meaning behind the day. I should also mention that their dog, Bear, was the true star and I’m pretty sure I have just as many pictures of Christian and Bear as I do of Christian and Colby. I loved that they acted the same on their wedding day as they do on a day that consists of drinking beers and watching the Pens. The vows that they wrote for each other were touching and hilarious, and they were followed up by the best men doing a perfect reenactment of the Catalina Wine Mixer. I mean, what more could you ask for?
