Ashley and Ben’s wedding at the Barn at Boones Dam was pretty darn great. The venue itself was awesome, their friends and family were a ton of fun, and the September weather was perfect. The biggest factor that made Ashley and Ben’s wedding so awesome was, of course, Ashley and Ben. Here are a few examples of what I mean:
1. They are 100% in love with each other and show it every chance they get. While Ashley was finishing up with her dress, she exclaimed, “Hurry up. I just want to see Ben!!” and Ben was just as excited to see his bride. Their first look was so special because they genuinely could not wait one minute more to see each other, and once they did they each had huge smiles that absolutely nothing could take away.
2. They are down to earth and unique. Guests were seated at the ceremony with the “Game of Thrones” theme song playing in the background (Abbey literally had a tear in her eye when she heard the first notes), and the Star Wars anthem accompanied the bridal party down the aisle. If that was not enough, they had the best cake topper of all time: Khaleesi and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones. I love that they stayed true to themselves and made the day their own.
3. Their ceremony was personal and romantic. I love outdoor weddings, and this one was exceptional. Their were less than a hundred guests in attendance and the love and happiness for Ashley and Ben could be seen from all of the laughs, smiles, and tears throughout the ceremony. Ben referred to Ashley as his Player 2 in his vows, and the pastor compared their marriage to games such as Battlestar Galactica and the Settlers of Catan. (I was almost positive Abbey and I were the only people that played Catan and we could not hide our smiles during that part.) Everything about their ceremony rocked and it ended with an impromptu performance of “Sweet Caroline” by the bride and groom as they walked down the aisle for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Broschart. Yeah, I told you they were awesome.
So there you have it: Ashley and Ben are absolutely perfect for each other. I loved every minute of their wedding and we can’t wait to hang out with them again!
