Sometimes it rains on wedding days. There is nothing you can do because it is out of your control. Now you can let that affect you. You can let each rain drop make you increasingly frustrated that things aren’t going your way. You can try and find someone to blame. You can raise your fist in the air and curse the gods for not giving you the weather you want.
Instead you can realize it doesn’t matter if it is raining. It doesn’t matter if it’s snowing, hailing, or if its windy as hell. All that matters is that you are getting married to the person that you cannot live without. The person that is part of all your inside jokes. The person who you can’t wait to be romantic with when you are 40, 50, and 90. The person whose smile can change a sub-par day into an excellent one.
Or not.

I am writing this because I think there is something to be said about how Erica and Justin handled their rainy wedding day at Lingrow Farm. They didn’t let it affect them at all. They focused on what was important. They were getting married and that’s all that mattered. This hit me the most during the ceremony as the soft rain pattered off the tin roof above. It had a calming affect on everyone attending. The guests intimately watched as Erica and Justin became husband and wife on a rainy Friday in April. It was quite beautiful.
I could not be more happy for these two! Abbey and I have become good friends with Erica and Justin ever since they rescued us from the wait for AAA with a few craft beers. Two genuine people that deserve each other in every imaginable way. I am so excited for them to start this new adventure together.

Some of the best wedding photos I’ve seen. It helps that the subjects were beautiful, actually model quality. My favorite is the grayscale one of Erica leaning against the post on the porch, the photographer is an artist, some just click. The large one of Justin could be a JOS. A. Banks suit advertisement, excellent. Thanks for sharing Marta, BTW Chaz looks like a younger Louie C.K. in one of the photos. 🙂
