ALESIA & SETH | WEST OVERTON BARN

Alesia and Seth were married last weekend at the West Overton Barn and it was perfect. I’m not just saying that because their centerpieces consisted of gorgeous flowers resting in growlers from some of my favorite breweries of all time, either (although I’m really jealous of all the beer they got to drink to acquire those). It had all of the components that make up some of my favorite weddings to shoot: an awesome location, outdoor ceremony, thoughtful details, a reception full of love, and of course a really cool and amazing couple.

Both the ceremony and reception took place at the historic West Overton village in Scottdale, PA, a national landmark known best for its distillery that produced Old Farm Pure Rye Whiskey in the nineteenth century and also as the birthplace of Henry Clay Frick. The Overholt Homestead acted as the backdrop to Alesia and Seth’s intimate outdoor ceremony, with its charming old stone facade highlighting the romance and love of the vows and music. After the ceremony, guests walked a few hundred yards away to enjoy dinner and dancing beneath the rafters of the Big Brick Barn (literally, a really really big brick barn), one of the largest and oldest in Pennsylvania. Besides the growlers I mentioned earlier, every detail was spot on and it was clear the amount of work that went into planning the reception. –Side Note: I already devoured the jam that was given away as a favor. It was delicious. —

Alesia and Seth are an awesome couple that made Abbey and I feel welcome from the start and made sure their guests had just as much fun as they were having. Seeing them genuinely enjoying their special day and the looks of love they constantly gave each other was great to see, and was especially great to capture through the lens of my camera. One of my favorite moments of the day was during their First Look; Seth could not take his eyes off of Alesia and was so excited to marry her in just a few short minutes. That excitement did not waver after that moment, either. They tied the knot and then danced the night away with their friends and family on a perfect spring evening.
